Here is a good topic starter! What is your favorite eyepiece in you collection and why is it your favorite, and why did you pick it over others? This is a good way to help begginers get some perspective on the subject!

I will start My Favorite is the 13mm Hyperion. My factors for this was good reviews in fast scopes - they are well corrected for this, Great glass and coatings, comfortable eye relief and at 122X with a 68 degree FOV in my 12.5 f5 scope its just a good all around eyepiece. Its hard to beat on globular clusters!

My favorite is an old 30mm Erfle. It was military surplus from a sighting telescope in a navy twin 5" gun mount made in 1943. I have used it in everything from f18 refractors to 16" f4.5 dobs. At f4.5 it doesn't quite compare to some of the newer eyepieces. In my old 8" f5 newt it was quite good. It performs remarkably well in my 100mm f6 refractor and in my 102mm f13.3 mak/cass. In my mak, it gives a splendid view of the entire double cluster in a single field. In an f15 and f18 refractor it is absolutely amazing. AFOV is at least 60 degrees.
