The 'dob' Project (17 Photos)
Project started with a 12.5" primary mirror that I acquired a number of years ago. Primary is 12.5" f/7.52 (94" fl) made by John Dobson in 1968. I wanted to build a scope around this mirror that would be worthy of John Dobsons's optics. This is a work in progress...
The telescope tube will be an all wood, square tube, open truss design with a length of almost 8 ft. The design plan is that the tube will initially be mounted as an alt/az, but with the option that it may be moved to an equatorial mount later.

Just wanted everyone to see Cornelius. He came to me at RTMC 2004. Found out Cornelius is a Magician, and so true. Please view before and after Puffnebula. To get to the after there was blood, a lot of sweat, and a few tears. First light as Cornelius II should be tonite! Sorry about the last pic, it snuck in.
